Trustees Engage with Orange County Leaders at State of the County

Board President Carolyn Inmon, Board Vice President Ryan Dack, Trustee Marcia Milchiker, and Student Trustee Eric Shin represented SOCCCD at the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 State of the County Address. The annual event brought together elected officials, business leaders, educators, and community partners to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Orange County and its future.

Trustees Cheer on Team Netherlands at Saddleback College

Board President Carolyn Inmon, Trustees T.J. Prendergast III and Marcia Milchiker, and Student Trustee Eric Shin came together at Saddleback College Stadium to welcome and cheer on Team Netherlands (TeamNL). Their visit celebrated TeamNL’s training residency in South Orange County and the growing partnership connecting Saddleback College and our region to the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Sacramento Legislative Visits

SOCCCD had a strong presence in Sacramento at the Community College League of California Legislative Conference and during visits to the State Capitol. The trustees and Chancellor met with legislators to advocate for key priorities including workforce opportunities, facility improvements, student housing, basic needs, and critical funding support. These productive conversations reinforced strong legislative support for community college students in South Orange County and helped keep our students and campuses front and center at the state level.
