Season’s Greetings,

2022 has been quite a year and I can hardly believe that we are in the thick of the holidays, preparing to usher in a new year.

As I reflect on the last few months as Chancellor, I can’t help but think about all the incredible people that I have met along the way.

Faculty, staff, students, administrators, trustees, and community leaders alike share a pride for this district and our community that is unmatched.

Shared values and a commitment to excellence, I believe are some of the district’s greatest strengths.

Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College faculty are the engines behind transformative programs and course offerings that are prepping our community’s future workforce to lead and innovate.

Our classified professionals and administration work tirelessly to offer impactful programs that fill gaps, eliminate barriers, and help students reach their highest potential to ultimately achieve long-term success.

The Board of Trustees demonstrate true servant leadership and uphold the most coveted purpose of community colleges as stewards of an accessible and affordable education.

Overall, I am full of gratitude this season.

I’m incredibly thankful for the warm welcome that I have received and thankful for your commitment to bring your best to the South Orange County Community College District day in and day out.

I’m also thankful for what we have in store for the year ahead. Collectively we are preparing to undertake big endeavors in 2023 related to accreditation, technology, communication, student success, innovation, and more.

But with your unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and overall excellence…I have no doubt that each project will be met with an enthusiastic willingness for partnership and collaboration.

Again, happy holidays and thank you for all you do. I am so very grateful to be part of this wonderful community.

May all that is beautiful, meaningful, and brings you joy—be yours this holiday season and throughout the new year.
