Board President Carolyn Inmon, Clerk T.J. Prendergast, Trustees Lisa Bartlett, Ryan Dack, Tim Jemal and Marcia Milchiker, and Student Trustee Eric Shin joined District and college leadership to celebrate the installation of Dr. Lonita Cordova as president of Saddleback College, marking an important milestone in the college's leadership.

Board President Carolyn Inmon and Trustees Ryan Dack, Tim Jemal, Marcia Milchiker and Lisa Bartlett, along with Student Trustee Eric Shin, joined District and college leadership to celebrate the grand opening of Irvine Valley College's Arts Promenade, a new space for students to connect, create and build community.

Trustees T.J. Prendergast and Marcia Milchiker joined District leadership and campus police teams at the Orange County Business Council's annual First Responders Dinner, celebrating their service, achievements, and commitment to keeping our campuses and communities safe.

Trustee Marcia Milchiker and Student Trustee Eric Shin joined the Irvine Valley College community for the Walk of Hope, showing their support for students and connecting with the campus community.

Board President Carolyn Inmon, Board Vice President Ryan Dack, Trustee Marcia Milchiker, and Student Trustee Eric Shin represented SOCCCD at the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 State of the County Address. The annual event brought together elected officials, business leaders, educators, and community partners to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping Orange County and its future.

Trustees Marcia Milchiker, Lisa A. Bartlett, T.J. Prendergast III, and Board President Carolyn Inmon joined faculty, classified professionals, administrators, and campus leaders at the Presidents’ Opening Sessions at Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College. Their participation helped mark the start of the new academic year and demonstrated the Board’s continued engagement with our college communities.

Board President Carolyn Inmon, Trustees T.J. Prendergast III and Marcia Milchiker, and Student Trustee Eric Shin came together at Saddleback College Stadium to welcome and cheer on Team Netherlands (TeamNL). Their visit celebrated TeamNL’s training residency in South Orange County and the growing partnership connecting Saddleback College and our region to the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The South Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees joined faculty, staff, families, and community members in celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2026 during commencement ceremonies at Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College. Trustees congratulated graduates as they marked this important milestone and recognized the dedication, perseverance, and support systems that helped students reach graduation.

Trustee Marcia Milchiker celebrated Saddleback College transfer students during the college’s transfer ceremony, handing out transfer cords alongside Blaze, the Saddleback College mascot. The event recognized students for their hard work and achievement as they prepare to continue their educational journeys at four-year universities.
