DAVID B. LANG

Trustee David B.
Lang has served on the Board
of Trustees since 1996, and is currently serving a four-year
term through 2020. He served
as Board President in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Mr. Lang is a certified public accountant, founding shareholder of the firm Hausmaninger Benoe Lang and Alford, and co-managing shareholder of HBLA's CPAs. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Orange County Estate Planning Council.
Mr. Lang actively attends district and community events. He is the past President of the Orange County Chapter
of the American Jewish Committee and the Orange County Estate Planning Council. He has served on the Irvine
Valley College Foundation, including two terms as President,
and has represented the district on the Orange County Community Colleges
Legislative Task Force. He is a member of the Irvine Chamber
of Commerce and was past President of the Rotary Club of Santa
Ana and the Orange County Academic Decathlon Association.
He was awarded the Saddleback Valley Men of Character Award
from the Boy Scouts Orange County Council. Mr. Lang and his
wife, Julia Gelfand Lang, were honored with the 2007 Samuel
Gendel Community Service Award by the American Jewish Committee,
Orange County Chapter, for their devotion to many human rights
issues, Jewish causes, and commitment to public service during
nearly 30 years in Orange County.
Regarding his involvement on the Board of Trustees, Mr. Lang comments, “I enjoy working to achieve a balance between current needs and preparing for the future needs of students and the community.”
Mr. Lang earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and a Master's in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California.
