BLUECARD PROGRAM
A benefit to all Blue Shield members is the BlueCard Program in which employees can access urgent care services across the country and around the world. While traveling within the United States, you can locate a BlueCard provider any time by calling 1-800-810-BLUE (2583) or by checking the Blue Shield website. If you are traveling outside of the United States, you can call collect 24 hours a day to locate a BlueCard Worldwide Network provider.
Before
traveling abroad, it is recommended that employees check the
website and call customer service for the most current listing
of participating hospitals and to obtain a brochure that provides
information on covered services in a foreign country.
This can be more cost-effective and eliminate the need for
you to pay for the services and then submit a claim for reimbursement.
