The Board of Trustees welcomes input from the community and staff at board meetings.

Addressing Issues to the Board
If you have an issue concerning the college/district, please follow these guidelines:

  • Try to resolve issues with college/district personnel before bringing the issue to the board.
  • Have a good understanding of the facts.
  • Prepare your comments in advance.
  • Be courteous and refrain from public discussion of personnel matters. All charges or complaints against employees should not be included in public comments, but should be submitted to the Chancellor in writing.
  • When your name is called, approach the podium and speak into the microphone. State your name for the record.
  • Be prepared to adjust your comments to avoid repetition if there are other similar public comments.
  • Public comments are limited to two (2) minutes.

Request to Speak
Members of the public wishing to address the board must fill out a Public Comments form prior to the start of the meeting. These are available at the entrance to the board room. A staff member will collect them prior to the meeting and provide them to the board president. Public comments are done at the beginning of board meetings. Print your name, complete address and affiliation legibly on the Public Comments form.
